Argentina is one of South America’s largest and most influential countries. Once one of the world’s wealthiest, it has been on the decline for nearly a century due to political instability and a crippling corruption problem. Nevertheless, it remains a popular residency option for many thanks to its culture, cuisine and easy path to citizenship. It is important to remember, however, that Argentina imposes on its residents one of the heaviest burden in the world. Still, thanks to reforms and a relaxing of regulations there are some interesting opportunities and that is especially true in the farming, business services and the tourism industries.
